Violence In The Media

How I feel about the violence today is that it is horrible.

Lately that's all I think I hear about, people beating others up for no reason whether it be T.V, video games, recent movies or in everyone's social life. Occasionally, I read the newspaper to fill in on some news that maybe I have missed. Every time I read anything it always has something to do about how the violence has only proceeded to be worse.

People steal, beat up, and kill just for things others have that they want.

I wish I knew why???

Journal on trip!

My trip to California was almost stressful rather than fun and exciting. Although I had a very good time spending time with my grandma and relatives. I went to Palm Desert unexpectedly because my great grandmother had a blood clot next to her heart which can be very deadly. I had saved up some money from Christmas from working and used that money to get a plane ticket to go see her. Everyone was very happy that I had come. It was beautiful, hot and fun at times but I do wish that I could have stayed longer. At least to do some fun things with my family and of course some shopping. Being In different places it is so different compared to the things you have where you have been living your whole life. For me to be an example. So anything you do on a daily basis is something new to you somewhere else. I did enjoy my trip and wish to go back sometime soon.

What would I do If I were Peter

If I were Peter I would have to give Cole some opportunity to explain himself, maybe not that it meant alot but the fact that Cole has changed. He has really shown that what he did to Peter could of been an anger skit rather than on purpose. Cole himself has had a pretty hard life since he was young, it has been even harder for him since his life threatening beat up on Peter. Although Cole made a huge mistake I do think that Cole should have a chance to see and talk to Peter. Becoming disabled from being a normal human being has got to be hard. I honestly could never imagine that happening to myself, but I do think that Cole has been threw alot since this all happened. Cole has also felt a little of what it feels like when someone trys beating you up, it was not the same way Peter was beating up but they both were dramatic. I think Cole has had somewhat of a turn around since that happened. I think maybe if Peter understands a little bit of understanding from Cole, and gives Cole a chance to explain to Peter that he is worth every moment of life. Even though his appearance and being disabled will never change at least Peter will know that he is loved. Maybe after all this they could become good friends. Sometimes you will be amazed at the way things in life turn around.

So today at work I received a very poor attitude from a women who received WIC. She was upset because she lost her voucher for her sons food. I tried to explain to her that even though it had been lost that she was responsible for the vouchers, even though I understand her circumstances. I walked her threw the simplest steps to be issued new vouchers. I told her she needed to go where she thought she might have lost them and then from there file a police report stating they were lost and if found send to WIC office for further action. She was so angry with me that I don't even know if she heard what I had to say to help her the best way there was.


Lacie- department of human services this is Lacie how may I help you today?

Tia-Hi I'm calling because earlier I was in your office and you printed me out some voucher's
I lost them when I was out shopping.

Lacie-Well mam there is nothing I can do unless you go to where you think you lost them, and then file a police report stating they were lost and if found then send to the WIC office for further action.

Tia-OMG ! Your so stupid you have no idea what you are doing my son has no food.

Lacie-Well I'm very sorry that's what you have to do in order to get new vouchers issued. Sometimes it can be more stressful than it really needs to be but I have no control over the system and I cant re issue anything until I have the say to do so and that will be when you file your police report.

Tia-Your such a stupid idiot I'm taking further action and calling your supervisor , Thanks for nothing.

* How things could of been different*
During this skit I wasn't thinking to much of how to be successful by getting my vouchers issued back to me. I am very angry and upset at the receptionist on the other line telling me the steps of getting new vouchers. I should of been more responsible for where the vouchers were at all times it was not the lady's fault, if anything I should of stopped to think and tell myself " Lacie stop being so uptight she is only trying to help you she cant lose her job and re issue you your vouchers she has to let you know what needs to be done first" I needed to listen closely so I would of known exactly what to do not raised my voice and or hung up the phone. I would have received the information I needed but by being angry I didn't get anywhere no vouchers were issued and my problem was never solved.


* My partner was gone when we video taped our skits I used the phone as a receptionist on the other line telling me I could not get new vouchers issued unless I went back to the store that I thought I lost them at and then from there file a police report I was very upset.

Ron being angry!

In this video anger is a big factor, you notice movements and actions that involve Ron being very angry. I think that Ron should of explained himself in a low voice and maybe tried fixing what he was so upset about, So that his problems would of been fixed. In this video he threw the phone and nothing had been resolved, except Ron being angrier than before.

If I were on Cole's Circle Justice I would definitely recommend anger management so that he would understand how to control his anger. Maybe if he learns different ways to handle himself and the trouble he gets into, life would go a lot smoother for him and he wouldn't have so many problems. I think Cole has had a very hard life. While growing up with his abusive father and ignorant mother, the only way he knew how to handle things was physically.
